Daniel Smith (aka; Danielson) is the founder of DANIELSON FAMILIE, a band initially composed entirely of his younger siblings. The band's earliest records were produced by Kramer at his Noise New Jersey recording studio, with subsequent works recorded by Steve Albini. The band eventually expanded to include Sufjan Stevens, whose early solo records were produced by Daniel. He has released several solo works as 'Brother Danielson'. In 2014 he released a collaborative LP with Jad Fair entitled "Solid Gold Heart" (co-produced by Kramer), and in 2021 he scored the movie, "Electric Jesus" and released the soundtrack on Joyful Noise Recordings. He has for the past 20 years run his own recording studio from his family home in Clarksboro, New Jersey.
