Description

INTERIOR OF AN EDIFICE UNDER THE SEA

by PAN AMERICAN & KRAMER

Shimmy-2031  (Release Date: June 27, 2025)

Presenting the 2nd collaboration between Pan American (Mark K. Nelson) & Kramer released on Shimmy-Disc. Their heralded debut effort entitled “Reverberations of Non-Stop Traffic on Redding Road” (Shimmy-2022) was released March 21, 2024.

"Interior of an Edifice Under the Sea" is Cinema-for-the-Ears at its most sublime...            furthering sonic explorations into the liquid space of Future-Past by two master-improvisors who spontaneously compose their wordless paintings out of thin air and into shimmering minimalism.

Their new LP takes Nelson & Kramer deep under the earth's seas, pulling the listener down beside them as they explore the unplumbed currents that fuel the human imagination, fluid, always moving, and always changing. It is an excursion into the lowest depths of Ambient Music, and a new beginning from the very place where life itself began. The floor of the ocean has a new sound, and it is breathtakingly beautiful.

The 1st pressing is limited to 111 hand-numbered LPs on 150gm black vinyl, available exclusively through the Shimmy-Shop & Bandcamp.

A Clear vinyl pressing is also available.

A download link for the LP is included with each Vinyl purchase.

Psychedelic Baby Magazine on 'The Double Life Of A Seahorse' - "...this track is no surface-level ambient drift. It’s tectonic lullaby, sonar gospel, a dream whispered by a seahorse living two lives—one real, one imagined. Its layers unfold like sediment, tone by tone, until you’re surrounded by something less like music and more like a psychic dive. ...Ambient not as background, but as destination. An edifice submerged, and now, somehow, audible."

(4.5/5**) SPILL MAGAZINE

"... combining their diverse musical experiences and personal takes on psych-tinged ambient soundscapes.

It is also no surprise that Interior of an Edifice Under the Sea is nothing less that excellent set of what we might see if we dive deep underwater transformed into musical visions, with all its lights, darkness, and unexpected elements that might wait for us down there.

It is certainly cinematic and expansive, but at the same time it escapes the usual paths that other artists might have taken when trying to explore the depths of the sea through music."
